Ed Rivet II

Ed Rivet served as the Legislative Director for Right to Life of Michigan (RLM) for over 30 years, crafting many state laws affecting abortion, infanticide, end-of-life planning, euthanasia, biotechnology and other issues. Prior to his full time pro-life work he served as a legislative assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives for a prolife Democrat legislator from Macomb County. In January 2019 he began his current term as the volunteer president of Right to Life of Ingham County, an affiliate of RLM.

As a regular spokesperson for RLM, Ed did countless media interviews, appearing live on Good Morning America and CNN and quoted in stories in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today and dozens more print, radio and television outlets. Ed served as RLM's resident speaker's trainer for decades, writing manuals on prolife speaking techniques and conducting dozens of workshops and training sessions all across Michigan and in other states. His communication background includes a stint as a daily drive-time radio show host for a state and local news program.

A native of Bay City, MI, Ed is well-steeped in local public service, with his father, father-in-law and brother having collectively been elected as Democrats to the offices of township trustee and supervisor, county commissioner, road commissioner, drain commissioner and state representative. Ed holds a bachelor's degree in public policy and a master's degree in public administration both from Michigan State University.
